  • Botox/Dysport post care instructions:

Do not press on the area that was treated for at least 4 hours.

Don’t lay down flat for at least 4 hours.

No cardio or jumping for at least 4 hours.

This will allow for the natural spread of product but help avoid drifting into areas that will cause lid drooping or other adverse issues.

  • Bruising and Swelling is absolutely normal and may last several days to over a week – ice as much as you can for the first several days. 20 min. on and 20 min. off – 5 times a day. Extra icing can definitely help.

A bruise does not mean your injector did something wrong. You have 1000’s of little blood vessels on your face and deeper vessels as well, a needle is used in most cases and can poke a blood vessel that will create bleeding and lead to bruising. Sometime this is unavoidable due to most vessels being hidden under the skin and other tissue.

Headache Pain or Pain at Injection Site – Tylenol or Motrin usually is all that is required. Use as directed by manufacturer.

Redness, Welts, and Itching – Benadryl is best. This is available over-the-counter. Use as directed by the manufacturer.

Lumps or Bumps – massage with constant pressure to the area for 2 min. Repeat 4-5 times a day.

Results – Understand Realistic Results. Additional treatment may be needed to require more product to get the results you are looking for. Additional product will require additional expense.

Call the spa if you have concerns or email photos to info@wildandbeautifulaustin.com

  • Twice daily use gentle cleanser that does not contain glycolic, or any Vitamin C or other harsh ingredients, We recommend using Elta MD Gentle Cleanser.

Apply Subnovii Post Care cream twice daily followed by powder(Volcanic Ash).

Apply after care until all brown has disappeared and skin is back to normal or cream runs out.

DO NOT wear make up until small dots/scabs are no longer visible.

DO NOT pick or rub scabs off. If you rub on scabs this can cause hypopigmentation/lightening of the skin and this cannot be corrected.

AVOID SUN EXPOSURE. Day to day is oaky but you must be careful while you heal as sun can cause hyperpigmentation/Darkening of the skin.

Redness & swelling are normal, sunburn feeling is also normal. Keep all treatment areas clean and dry.

Call our office if you feel you may have an infection or abnormal discomfort is present.

Avoid direct sun exposure as this may cause hyperpigmentation. (Darkening of the skin)

  • You may gently wash your face or other treated area’s with a gentle cleanser (we recommend Elta MD Foaming Face Wash) using luke warm or cool water following your Photofacial Treatment. You may apply a light moisturizer but it is important not to smother your skin as it will not be able to cool down appropriately and this could lead to pinpoint blistering.

Cover as much are treated as possible to avoid additional sun heat exposure as this can advance your treatment into a more aggressive situation as the skin needs to begin to cool on the surface immediately after your treatment. It is best to apply very cold compresses gently to your skin several hours after your treatment.

After an IPL treatment you may feel a sunburn sensation which is completely normal. It is important to keep skin cool with cold compresses. Prepare a bowl of ice water and lay wash clothes in the water, ring out and lay them on your face. Repeat steps until skin is feeling cooler. If you do not do this you could get blisters and unnecessary scabbing and pigment loss. If your skin is exposed to sun after an IPL you may continue to have heat expression in the skin which could lead to a potential over treatment. Make sure you follow these after care instructions to avoid any complication.

Avoid makeup for 24 hours. Do not smother skin for 24 hours or longer in order to allow skin to cool down.

Do not use Retin-A or acidic topical skin care products for 5 days or longer after your treatment.

If skin becomes crusty, this can be normal depending on how much sun damage was present prior to treatment. This is the sun-damage crusting off but it is important not to pick or scrub crusting off. Allow it to fall off at it’s own pace which is usually 5-7 days.

Do not expose your skin to long periods of sun until skin is back to normal.

Wear an SPF of 30+ or more at all times while out and about or sitting at home with your blinds or curtains open this includes daily even when you are not receiving skin treatments.

    Elta MD SPF is recommended.

If any side affects such as blistering occur, call our office at 512-579-0899 immediately so we may guide you as to what steps to take to heal safely.

  • To ensure the best results, there are several things you must avoid after a PDO thread lift. These include sleeping on your stomach or side, wearing makeup, drinking alcohol, making extreme facial expressions, and receiving facials and facial massages.

SLEEPING ON YOUR STOMACH OR SIDE

One of the worst things you can do after a thread lift is to apply an excessive amount of pressure to the treated area. If you sleep on your stomach or side within the first five nights post-treatment, you may experience swelling, discomfort, bruising, or less-than-optimal results. The PDO Threads may shift or settle more than they are expected to do so.

If you usually sleep on your side or stomach or toss and turn throughout the night, practice sleeping on your back for a few weeks before your treatment. If you still roll over after finding a comfortable position on your back, sleep in a recliner to mitigate the risk of you sleeping on your side after treatment. Alternatively, build a towel fort around yourself in your bed.

    WEARING MAKEUP

There are several reasons why you should avoid wearing makeup in the first 24 hours after your treatment. Primarily, your skin is sensitive in the first several hours after treatment. Even cosmetics that usually cause you only minor skin irritation should be avoided, this can also cause an infection. Use clean hands and clean make up brushes. Wash make up brushes with hot soapy water and let dry before using. This is also good practice to do monthly to keep your skin looking its best.

Secondarily, it’s important that your skin is able to breathe during the first 12 hours after treatment. Cosmetics can suffocate your skin. Finally, most women apply a significant amount of pressure on their skin while removing their makeup. To mitigate the risk of applying too much pressure to your face, it’s best to just not wear makeup for the first 12 hours after treatment.

If you had steri-strips applied to the port or opening where PDO Threads were inserted, you MUST keep steri-strips clean and applied at all times for a minimum of 48-72 hours. You may change the steri strip but make sure you don’t touch the sticky part with dirty hands. The steri-strip is applied to prevent bacteria and dirt from getting into the port until it closes up and begins to heal.

    GETTING FACIALS AND FACIAL MASSAGES

Facial massages and facials should be avoided for the first 10 days after treatment. Facial massages should be avoided to mitigate the risk of excessive pressure being applied to the treatment area. This mitigates the risk of swelling, bruising and the threads being forced out of place accidentally.

Facials should be avoided for the same reasons that wearing makeup should be avoided. Facials may involve excessive amounts of pressure applied to the treatment area. Some facials also involve the use of strong chemicals that can irritate the skin during the period of time after your treatment that your skin is sensitive.

    BECOMING OVERHEATED

To summarize succinctly what you should avoid after a PDO thread lift, you should avoid applying too much pressure to your face and elevating your blood pressure. While you may not realize it, prolong heat exposure elevates your blood pressure significantly.

To keep your blood pressure within a normal range, avoid excessive heat exposure. To accomplish this, take a lukewarm bath rather than a hot shower and avoid tanning beds, dry saunas, steam rooms, steaming hot soup, and sunbathing. Staying hydrated will also help you to keep cool and maintain normal blood pressure.

    DRINKING ALCOHOL

You should avoid drinking alcohol for the first two weeks after your thread lift for a couple of reasons. First, alcohol is a diuretic, meaning it will flush out an excessive amount of water and essential nutrients that are vital for your skin health. Second, alcohol consumption increases your blood pressure significantly.

    SMOKING

Unfortunately, smoking is another common activity that elevates blood pressure. Dozens of the chemical compounds in cigarette smoke, including nicotine, constrict your blood vessels. This means, among other things, that nutrients cannot flow through your bloodstream to your skin efficiently. Smoking also kills skin cells and it does not allow oxygen to the skin and the skin slowly dies and looks gray and dull. You do not heal well if you are as smoker.

It’s important to note that any product containing nicotine will elevate your blood pressure. For example, smoking cessation tools, such as nicotine patches and nicotine gum must also be avoided. If you’re not confident that you can go 14 days without nicotine, ask your primary care physician for a referral to a specialist to help you quit before treatment.

    VIGOROUS EXERCISE

The final most common activity that elevates blood pressure is vigorous exercise. Moderate exercise, such as walking, jogging, and swimming at a leisurely pace is fine. However, if your workout is so intense that you can’t sing or carry a conversation, it is too vigorous and you are placing your heart under undue strain.

  • Microneedling offers amazing benefits to getting and keeping your skin beautiful, but like any good skin procedure there are important aftercare instructions that you will need to follow to get the most out of your skincare treatment.

Since microneedling creates micro wounds in the skin, patients cannot return to their normal skincare routines right away. In fact, immediately after your treatment, you will look as though you have a mild to moderate sunburn, and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. Keep in mind, these effects are normal and they typically subside within a few hours after treatment, but can take up to 24-48 hours for complete resolution and sometimes up to two weeks.

Continue to treat the skin gently for 5-6 days after microneedling, and you may resume your normal skincare routine after day 5-6 post-treatment.

CLEAN – Use a gentle cleanser and tepid water to cleanse the face for 72 hours post-treatment, and gently dry the treated skin. Always make sure your hands are clean when touching the treated area, and do not use a Clarisonic or other powered cleansing brushes for at least one week after your treatment. Avoid touching your face with your hands. Hands have bacteria that can transfer to the open micro-wounds and cause irritation and potential unwanted side affects.

Change your pillow case the night of your treatment to avoid getting an infection.

HEAL – We recommend serum antioxidants post-treatment, as its properties are ideal to help heal the skin by soothing and lessening irritation.

HYDRATE – Following your microneedling treatment, your skin may feel drier than normal. Hyaluronic Acid is an ideal ingredient you can use to hydrate and restore the skin back to perfect balance.

STIMULATE – In the days following your microneedling treatment, and as the skin starts to regenerate, collagen-stimulating peptides are ideal to maximize the effects of the stimulation already started by the microneedling.

MAKEUP – We recommend you do not apply makeup for 24 to 72 hours after the procedure. In addition, do not apply any makeup with a makeup brush, especially if the brush is not clean.

PROTECT – Immediately after the procedure, your skin professional will apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB, SPF 25 or greater sunscreen to your skin. We recommend a chemical-free sunscreen. Keep in mind that you should continue to use a sunscreen everyday—not only the days following your procedure—as part of your skincare routine to protect your skin from sun damage and premature aging.

    Additional Microneedling Aftercare Precautions

To ensure the proper healing environment, do NOT use any Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula) scrubs or anything perceived as “active” skincare for one week post treatment.

Do not use any powered cleansing brushes like Clarisonic for one week post treatment.

Avoid intentional and direct sunlight for 72 hours.

    No tanning beds.

    Always wear sunscreen.

Do not go swimming for at least 72 hours post-treatment.

Do not exercise or participate in strenuous activity for the first 72 hours post-treatment. Sweating and gym environments in general are harmful and filled with bacteria, which may cause adverse reactions in your skin.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN even if you have an adverse reaction. Reactions can occur for many reasons after a treatment. We follow strict treatment guidelines to ensure the best the out come of your procedure. We use all disposable brushes, cups, needles and all treatment supplies to ensure the best safety and adhere to the best safety standards which is EXTREMELY important to us. We cannot know all of the things that may occur after you leave our office and how your skin was cared for, if you wore make up to soon, didn’t change your pillow case, used something irritating, touched your face with dirty hands etc.

  • Pre - Microdermabrasion Instructions:

Do not use Retin-A or other exfoliating creams 72 hours (3 days) prior to your treatment.

Avoid sun tanning or tanning creams/sprays for at least a week before treatment

You must NOT have recently had laser surgery or used Accutane. (Please never use Accutane)

Candidates who have had a recent chemical peel or other skin procedure, such as filler injections, should wait two to three weeks before undergoing microdermabrasion.

Prospective patients should also refrain from waxing or tanning the skin to be treated for a few weeks prior and at least a week after a microdermabrasion treatment.

    Post - Microdermabrasion Instructions

To maximize microdermabrasion recovery time and results, it is important to follow all post-procedure instruction below:

Keep the new skin clean and moisturized

Anti-inflammatory creams or cold compresses may be used as necessary

    Use a gentle cleanser.

Trauma such as scratching or picking the treated area should be avoided.

It is important to avoid irritating the treated skin with harsh chemicals, rubbing or tanning for one week.

Although some peeling may occur in the treated areas, moisturizer should help minimize this effect.

Avoid staying in the sun for at least 7 days after the microdermabrasion treatment to prevent UV rays from damaging your skin which slows down the recovery. Wear a big hat if in the sun for long periods of time.

Patients who absolutely cannot avoid sun exposure should use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.

Do not use glycolic, alpha hydroxy, beta hydroxy, retinol, benzyl peroxide or topical acne medications for 24-48 hours following treatment.

You may resume prescription retinoid products (Retin A, Renova, Tretinoin, Avita, Alustra or other brands Tretinoin and other prescription retinoid products 3 - 7 days after last microdermabrasion treatment or as instructed by your technician.

If you are receiving a series of treatments, do not resume any of these products until after you have completed your last medical microdermabrasion treatment.

  • See after care for microdermabrasion and follow those instructions.

  • *Gently cleanse your face twice a day with a gentle cleanser. (Just Skin Gentle Cleanser recommended)

*Please do not pick or pull your skin at any time after your peel, as it can cause scarring. Your skin will take about 4 to 7 days to completely peel depending on the strength of the peel or treatment you received. Chemical peel on body, chest, or arms often takes longer (up to 3 weeks).

    * Please do not exfoliate using a cleansing brush or any facial scrub or acid based products for 2 weeks; longer if peel is done on body.

*Do not use any products that contain AHA, Glycolic, Retin-A, or any acne medication until your skin has finished peeling (usually 7 days, but possibly longer).

*Keep skin well hydrated by drinking at least 40 ounces of water per day, and moisturizing throughout the day with a good moisturizer both day and night. Reapply throughout the day as often as needed. Your skin should never be so dry that it is cracking or sore.

*Refrain from waxing, tanning, or using sunbeds for 3 weeks.

*Avoid working out and sweating for at least 24 hours and up to 48 hours.

*If your skin becomes itchy at any time, you may use a 1% hydrocortisone cream (any brand).

*Finally, use SPF 30 or higher consistently throughout the day. REAPPLY, REAPPLY, REAPPLY, for this will limit your skin from burning
